Why buyers ask for inverter first
Buyers ask for inverter models for two reasons that are easy to confuse. The first is comfort: a variable-speed compressor can hold a room temperature more steadily than a fixed-speed unit cycling on and off. The second is efficiency at part load: a room rarely needs full capacity all day, so a unit that can run gently for long periods can use less energy over a season than its headline capacity suggests. Both reasons are real, but neither is quantified on this site beyond the efficiency descriptions listed per model — A+++ for European models, SEER2 figures for North American models. A buyer who needs a seasonal energy figure for a specific climate should ask for the documents that support it, rather than converting one label into another.
